About

The Pacific Rim Conference on English Studies began in 1995 as a graduate-run conference within the University of Alaska Anchorage English department. Although it is an English conference, it is also inclusive, welcoming writers in the humanities, arts, and social sciences.

PacRim, as it is known, occurs annually in the Spring, although the Call for Papers (CFP) is sent out in the Fall semester. The CFP can be found at a variety of international listing sites, because we appreciate the global scholasticism of students, professors, and writers.

A two day event, PacRim consists of a number of panels, roundtables, and two keynote addresses. New events, such as creative writing discussions are also frequently added into the program. The event is widely attended by students and faculty in the humanities.

The conference is hosted by Sigma Tau Delta, the English Honor society on campus. Sigma Tau Delta also hosts the Silent Auction run concurrently with the conference.

Please email the conference organizers at uaapacrim@gmail.com if you have any questions.
